KSDW continues to be the biggest event on sustainable development and the environment organized in Kosovo. Since the first edition and onwards the KSDW was organized in close cooperation between, the Ministry of Economy and Environment, European Union Office in Kosovo/EU Special Representative, Deutsche Gesellschaft für Internationale Zusammenarbeit (GIZ) GmbH on behalf of the German Government, Institute for Development Policy (INDEP) and Balkan Green Foundation (BGF).

KSDW 2020 will take place in the period between August and October, including a range of combined activities and will cover an array of environmental and development issues, as elaborated in detail below.

The proposed topics to be covered this year by KSDW panel discussions/roundtables are:

1. Green deal;

 2.Transition to sound Resource Management and Circular Economy;

3. National Energy and Climate Plan; Just transition / energy poverty/ heating/biomass/air pollution/deforestation;

4. Energy Transition -  Regional Approach). In addition, this year, in the light of COVID-19, KSDW’s organizational partners will focus on establishing a Virtual Platform labeled under the branding of KSDW, which will enable wider reach of the audience online through interactive and attractive range of activities and information. The public will have the chance to expand their knowledge on environmental issues and sustainable development in Kosovo through reading and debating related research papers, as well as scientific assessments portraying the stance of Kosovo in this regard.

Furthermore, the platform will include awareness-raising products, such as video materials and infographics. Simultaneously, the platform will enable the follow-up announcements on the KSDW event, encourage public action, and increase its visibility.

As traditionally practiced, KSDW will also organize side events, targeting and involving various stakeholders/target groups, such as pupils, businesses, youth, institutions, NGOs etc. These events will be online/virtual and potentially physical, adjusted to the possibility of dismissal of the isolation due to the COVID-19 and public gatherings throughout the year.
