The main objective of this panel was to facilitate the discussion amongst the stakeholders
regarding the just energy transition of the countries that heavily depend on coal for energy
production and encourage their progress towards the transitioning into a greener energy
mix and transposition of the national policies to the EU acquis. The just energy transition, as
a process in itself, is quite important to Kosovo considering the high percentage of energy
production that comes from coal-fired power plants and the high number of employees
that work in this sector.
