1st Panel Discussion: ‘Healthcare waste management in Kosovo during the pandemic
COVID-19 pandemic has created an unprecedented situation, resulting in generation of large amounts of healthcare waste being disposed. The main objective of this panel
discussion was to facilitate the dialogue for minimization of the hazardous e‑ects of
healthcare waste on environment and public health and initiate the first steps towards
adequate treatment of such waste, which shall be a joint endeavour between the national and local level. This panel discussion brought together stakeholders like Ministry of Environment, Spatial Planning and Infrastructure, Kosovo Environmental Protection Agency (KEPA), Ambienti Regional Waste Company, and international experts of healthcare waste management.
