Considering the significance of decreasing CO2 emissions through investing in energy
eciency measures, GIZ Kosovo has produced a video in which energy ecient and Near
Zero Building are presented to the public. This video highlights responsibilities and obligations of the Ministry of Environment, Spatial Planning and Infrastructure for the transposition of the EPBD (Energy Performance of Buildings Directive) and the advantages of investing in energy eciency measures and RES.
Besides the video production, GIZ Innovation group also has organized an online panel
discussion on "Improving energy eciency in buildings with a focus on Nearly ZeroEnergy Buildings standards". The event highlighted the need to improve energy eciency in
buildings by implementing advanced energy eciency standards.
Mr. Servet Spahiu from Ministry of Environment, Spatial Planning and Infrastructure highlighted the preparations of the central level in undertaking all the necessary reforms at the policy level, while Ms. Krenare Shkodra from Municipality of Prishtina emphasized the need for capacity building at the local level to monitor the implementation of the energy eciency standards in buildings. A thorough analysis was provided by Mr. Kemal Lojo – Mechanical Engineer and Energy Eciency expert, on the implementation of nZEB standards in the new GIZ oces in Prishtina, while he also provided lessons learned for Kosovo from implementation of nZEB standards in Croatia.
